June Elizabeth Walton

June Elizabeth Walton, 84, of Lumberton passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born on May 28, 1939 in Nederland, Texas to the late Frank Aubrey Howell and Emily May Mize Howell.

June was a primary school teacher at Lumberton ISD for 30 years.  She married her husband Carrol Winston Walton on February 23, 1968 and they had two sons together; Alan and Ryan. They were married for 48 wonderful years until the time of his passing in 2017. June was a member of First Baptist Church in Silsbee. She was also a member of the Texas State Teachers Association as well as the Boot Scooters. Some of her hobbies include dancing, fishing, painting, cooking, reading, and of course spending time with her friends and family. Some of her favorite times were spending the holidays with her family, trips to the lake, and fish frys. If June could give a final piece of advice to her friends and loved ones it would be to travel while you’re young and to always nurture your friendships. June was a beloved teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was so loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Emily Howell; husband, Carrol Winston Walton; and brother, Arthur Howell.

June is survived by her sons, Alan Walton and wife Nicole, Ryan Walton and wife Courtney; grandchildren, Alana Walton Phillips and husband Taylor, Seidie Walton, Samantha Byrd, Andrew Byrd, Mallory Warden and husband Kyle, Morgan Walton and fiancé Jason, Addyson Walton; great grandchildren, Jastine, Knox, Selena, Broly, Kason, Maverick, Josie; brother, David Howell; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Following the funeral service the family will be gathering at Ryan Walton's house located at 481 W. Walton Road Lumberton, Texas 77657 for a meal. All are invited to join.
