Katherine Bolenbaucher Obituary

Katherine Jean (McKay) Bolenbaucher passed away peacefully on July 5, 2020.  Kathy came into the world on September 25, 1947 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was the second of three daughters of Charles Marshall McKay and Katherine Terry.  Kathy was blessed with a deep-rooted Christian family, with a long list of prominent southern Methodist preachers and ministers in Mississippi.

Growing up, Kathy loved horses. She would frequently visit her grandparent’s farm in Northern Louisiana.  She would ride her horse “Trigger”, an appropriate name for a horse that seemed to scare everyone but Kathy.  Dedication and perseverance were always her greatest qualities.

She and her family moved from Baton Rouge to Baytown, Texas when she was twelve. After high school graduation at Robert E. Lee, she attended and graduated from business college. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Lansford, of Baytown. Two sons were born, Charles and Jeff Lansford.

Kathy had a very caring soul.  Having a Servant’s Heart, she gave up business and became a Respiratory Therapist, giving near 30 years serving her patients. Her undying passion was to help people quit smoking, and she was successful with many of them, greatly improving their quality of life and longevity.

She spent many years as a Girl Scout leader, influencing and strengthening our younger generation of ladies.  She always believed that the greatest legacy that you can leave behind is to influence and improve the lives of our children.

With undying perseverance, she turned her will and life to the Lord.  She married Paul Bolenbaucher, a longtime minister of the Pentecostal Church.  She always kept her eye on God, her family and her deep faith. She was a loving mother, wonderful sister and devoted friend.

She passed away peacefully, strong in faith, listening to her favorite hymns.  She is survived by her husband Paul Bolenbaucher; sisters Juanita Johnson and Martha McKay; son Charles Lansford; step-children Robert Bolenbaucher, Arlen Bolenbaucher and Tabitha Moses; grandchildren Jonathan Lansford, Darian Watts and Jessica Lansford; and great-grandchildren Madison Lansford and Adley Watts.  She is preceded in death by her son Jeff Lansford.  All of these were loved and touched deeply.
