Lonnie Sirmons

James Leonard “Lonnie” Sirmons, 74, of Silsbee went home to be with Jesus Sunday June 29, 2025, in Houston. He was born Wednesday March 21, 1951, to the late Arthur “Sonny” Sirmons and Elma Sue Caldwell Sirmons.

Lonnie retired after 42 years of service with BNSF/ Santa Fe Railway. He was a 3rd generation railroader. He started out as part of the bridge gang, then became a locomotive engineer, and retired as a Road Foreman of Engines over the Gulf Division.

His proudest achievement in life was his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had many hobbies during his life including fishing, traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and dedicating quality time with his grandchildren. He was a loving, husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by both parents.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife or 53 years, Brenda Sirmons; daughter Michelle Johnson and her husband Jamie; sons, Michael Sirmons, and Cody Sirmons and his wife Katie; grandchildren, Jolie, Braelyn, Madelyn, and Chandler AKA “Danger Dan”; sister Glenda Dennis and her husband Leroy; brother and sister in law, Larry and Judy McCollough; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends, some of which he called family.
