Lorene Virginia (Rider) Bertrand

Lorene Virginia Bertrand, 88, of Lumberton passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021. She was born December 28, 1932 in Huntington, West Virginia to the Late Walter C. Rider and Arrilla O’Dell Rider.

Lorene was a lady who was devoted to God and loved her family. She married her husband, Thomas Wayne Bertrand in 1959 and they were married 54 years until the time of his death in 2013. Together they had two children, Tony and Michelle. In their younger days, she and Thomas enjoyed traveling together and also league bowling. Her other hobbies included crochet and collecting items such as angels and crosses. Lorene loved Christian music and she and her late husband both dedicated their lives to the Lord. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Thomas Wayne Bertrand; and numerous siblings.

Lorene is survived by her children, Tony Bertrand and wife Pamela, Michelle Warren and husband Terry Davis; grandchildren, Amber Coleman and husband Jeremy, Sabrina Castaneda and husband Roberto, Amanda Bertrand, Mandy McKinley, Rusty Mathis; great grandchildren. Hayden Coleman, Carrie McKinley, Christopher McKinley, Taylor “Tater Tot” Gore, Melissa Mathis, Caylee Mathis, Bryce Burns; and other family members and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1PM Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7PM.

Cremation services will be held under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
