Margaret Ancor, 88, of Silsbee, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday March 19, 2024. She was born July 3, 1935 in Collinsville, Alabama, the only child to the late Staton Hawkins and Mabel Morgan Hawkins.
Margaret loved the Lord and His Church, and spent many hours serving others in His name. She carried a love for life and God and music that took her all the way to Memphis where she spent her 20s playing Gospel music. It was during this time that she met and married the love of her life, Carlie Ancor, Sr. They lived in Louisiana, Alabama and eventually settled in Texas where they raised their children. Margaret loved spending time with her husband and children, and grandchildren later in life. Although she spent many years in poor health, she always kept her eyes on God, and was an example of faith to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Margaret is survived by her son Carlie Ancor, Jr. of Colorado, her daughter Melanie James and husband Steve James of Silsbee, and granddaughters Blakeley James of Silsbee and Hannah Ancor of Colorado.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Silsbee Oaks Healthcare for all the care they gave to both Margaret and Carlie Ancor, Sr. over the years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Silsbee Texas. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
