Marie Catherine Bowen, passed from this life at the age of 91, on February 11, 2020.
Marie was born to William Clarence Bell and Alice Mae (Bigger) on May 1, 1928, in Hodgenville, Kentucky. Marie was spunky and always ready for a new adventure. After finishing school Marie got married and began a new adventure with her husband Seymour (Don) Lyle Bowen. They spent many years on the road visiting churches and exploring the world together. They spent winters in Arizona and summers in Michigan. Finally, they decided to settle down in Silsbee, Texas. Together they had five wonderful children. Off and on as the kids were growing up Marie worked as a waitress but that never kept her from being there for them. You could always count on Marie to be at every function. She always kept everyone laughing with her outrageous behavior. Marie had many interests reading, and enjoying time outdoors, playing the piano, and crochet were some of her favorites. Near and dear to Marie’s heart was her dog Tarzan. Marie also came to love Amari, Katrina’s dog as her own. Everyone who knew Marie would tell you she lived life to the fullest, she was ready for anything.
