Obituary

Marilyn Jean McDonald, 85, of Kountze passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023. She was born on June 19, 1938 in Montague, Texas to the late Murph Arlington Hewitt and Gertie Ruth Witt Hewitt.

Marilyn was an active member of First Baptist Church in Kountze. She played the piano and organ there for many years as well as taught Sunday School. Marilyn was a VBS instructor and conducted many bible studies at the nursing home and her church. She also taught piano lessons out of her home. She loved her church and served the Lord with her whole heart. Marilyn and her late husband, Gordon owned and operated the Kountze Pharmacy for 40 years. She was an incredible woman with a giving spirit. Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Gordon McDonald; and brother, Worth Hewitt.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Heather McDonald and Sean McDonald; grandchildren, Zoey, Lilly, and Jaydon McDonald; and numerous other family members and friends.
