Martha Gore Obituary

Martha Ann Greenwood Gore, 78 of Silsbee, passed away on Sunday March 2, 2025. She was born on December 4, 1946, to the late Arthur and Myrtle Judiene Greenwood.

Martha was a lifelong resident of Silsbee, Tx. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was quick to tell a funny story and was one of the best cooks around, especially known for her tea cakes and yeast rolls.  Martha found pleasure in spending time with her family and friends. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special. Martha owned and operated a successful beauty shop for many years, where she spent countless hours cutting and perming hair, as well as socializing with her customers. Martha enjoyed relaxing at the river, fishing, and spending time on the houseboat. One of her great joys in life was being with her grandchildren. Martha left a legacy of love and will be greatly missed by many.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 48 years, Perry Gore, brothers James Greenwood and Ricky Greenwood.

Martha is survived by her children, Brian Riley and wife Dee, Steve Riley, Tammy Gore Kier and husband David, Melissa Gore Huddleston, and husband Michael; Grandchildren Jacob Riley and wife Amanda, Rachael Riley and partner Cullen Thompson, Brittany Kier Chism and husband Eric, Chase Eason, Kaitlyn Kier Read and husband Will, and Brooklyn Huddleston; Martha also leaves behind eight great grandchildren, and one on the way; nephew James Newton Greenwood; nieces Amy Greenwood Johnson, Kim Greenwood Spurlock; daughter in law Melissa Spell Riley; as well as, her best friend Paula Jenkins.
