Mary Martin Obituary

Mary Catherine Kenny Martin, 84, of Silsbee, Texas passed away on March 19, 2024.
She is survived by her three sons, Roger Martin (Kirsten); Paul Martin (Suzanne); and
Steven Martin (Denise); nine grandchildren, Craig Martin (Courtney); Corey Martin
(Antje); Tanner Hawthorne (Logan); Adam Hawthorne; Sean Martin; Sydney Madison;
Eric Martin; Jaxson Martin; Sheridan Martin; four great-grandchildren, Rilynn Martin;
Hunter Martin; Remington Martin; and Kayden Martin; brother, William Kenny (Sheryl).
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Jack Lynn Martin, her
brothers, Michael and Patrick Kenny and her parents, Hubert L. and Willie Kenny.
Mary Catherine was born in Houston, Texas on June 24,1939 and raised in Texas City,
Texas. She and her family moved to Silsbee in 1968. In Silsbee, Mary Catherine
became an active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church (previously All-Saints Catholic
Church) and served on the Parish Council, Altar Society and Pines Festival. She was
active in the Silsbee community where she was a member of Silsbee Chamber of
Commerce and the Hardin County Christian Care Center. Mary Catherine is best known
for her 25 years of service to All Faiths Day School where she was able to positively
impact the pre-K youth in the Silsbee area.
A visitation service will be held at Farmer’s Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4,2024
from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm followed by a rosary service from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Funeral
services will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Silsbee on Friday, April 5 at 2:00
pm. The family asks, that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Hardin
County Christian Care Center, P.O. Box 2050, Silsbee, TX 77656.
