Mary Ann Overstreet

Mary Overstreet, 96, of Kountze, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Paradigm of Kountze Nursing Center. She was born on Thursday, June 13, 1929, in Saratoga, to Ernest and Ruth (Crisp) Smith.

Mary was a Health Inspector for Hardin County for many years and enjoyed football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, Rodeo, game shows, and deer hunting. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend to all.

Survivors include her sister, Cleatis Fregia; grandchildren, Troy Brown and his wife, Linda, Danny Overstreet and his wife, Laci, Sharon Overstreet; and her dear friend Dee Hall; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve Overstreet; daughter, Edna Ruth Lafferty; sons, Tommy and Steve “Bubba” Overstreet; brothers, Loy, Noris, and E.W. Smith; sisters, Burnice Crow, Norma Walston, and Doris Borowski.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Troy Brown, Danny Overstreet, Randal Fregia, Jimmy Fregia, Mike Borowski, and Don Smith.
