Mary Ann Vanmeter

Mary Ann Vanmeter, 63, of Silsbee passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021. She was born on December 18, 1957 in Orange, Texas to the late George W. Vanmeter and Marianne Marie Vanmeter.

Mary was a special education teacher at Silsbee ISD for many years. After she retired, her love for children led her back to be a substitute at schools around Hardin County. Mary was very smart and a great conversationalist. She had a love and passion for children and education. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda Bixler.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Cheri Nahhas, Leia Cearley, Kara Robinson and husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Adrianna, Malai, Zander, Avlynne, and Mara along with four other grandchildren; cousins, Cheryl Jacobs, Keary Cobb, Jerry Mills, Sam Mills; special uncle and aunt, Lee and Arlene Mills; and numerous other cousins, family members, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2PM Friday, October 15, 2021 at Farmer Funeral Home with visitation Thursday evening from 5-7PM. A private burial will be held Saturday at Short Cemetery near Center.
