Faye Maxine Bell, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 11, 2024. She resided briefly in FL near her children, but was a long time resident of Silsbee,Texas for almost 90 years. Maxine was born November 7, 1932 in Brookeland, Texas to Ernest McKinley Powell and Lola Ferguson Powell.
She is survived by her brother Russell W Powell of Houston, daughter Mrs. Dianne Roberts and husband Chris, son Kenneth ‘Buddy’ Bell, and grandson Christopher Dubcak, all of Parrish, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth ‘Bug’ Bell, brother EM Powell, Jr, and sister Eunice Richmond.
Maxine’s career consisted of many years with Southwestern Bell, Gulf States Utilities, and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad, all in Silsbee. She graduated from Silsbee High School with the class of 1949. Maxine was a standing member of the First Baptist Church of Silsbee.
She had a love for the Silsbee Tigers. She lived and breathed Maroon and White, having season tickets for over 50 years. She followed their basketball and football faithfully. She had many hobbies but if you knew her, you knew fishing and hunting were at the top of her list. She was an expert marksman and fisherwoman! She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee, TX.
