Merlon McGallion

Merlon McGallion, 78, of Fred, died on Friday, May 16, 2025 at his home in Fred. He was born on Thursday, May 15, 1947 in Honey Island to Sam and Lucy (Gore) McGallion. 

Merlon was married to his wife Linda Carol McGallion for 48 years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a lover of sports. He could always be found at a ball field somewhere watching his grandkids or at L&Ms drinking coffee with his best friend Miles McKinney. 

Survivors include his daughter Carrie Crenshaw and her husband, Jeffery, of Silsbee; Christopher McGallion and his wife, Laura Lee, of Warren; Craig McGallion and his wife, Shelly, of Spurger; Tricia Ducote and her husband, Ben, of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Brittany, Kati, Krista, Chance, Hunter, Chase, Kenzie, Austyn, Tristan, Tyler and Tori; Great-grandchildren, Peyton, Sawyer, Kooper, Sadie, Daisy, Carter, Brantley, Dawson, Blakely, Gracelyn, Kya, Remi, Koah, Dixie, Dallas, Emory, Serenity and Adley; Brothers, Welton and Elvis McGallion; Sisters, Shirley Winkle, Nita McGallion and Peggy Sharp. As well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lucy; wife, Linda; 2 brothers, Leslie and LG McGallion; and 5 sisters, Ruthy Yawn, Ruby Cravey, Louise Riddick, Faye Fowler, Bobbie Jean Horton.
