Michael Wayne King, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2026 at the age of 71.
Born on April 27, 1954 in Woodville Texas, Michael lived a life defined by love for his family, hard work, and quiet strength. He retired from Gulf States Utilities and later retired again from City of Austin.
He was a devoted husband to Tammy, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in faith, love and family. As a father, he was a source of guidance, strength, and support, always putting his family first.Michael found his greatest joy in his children, the late Beverly King, the late Aaron King, Mandy (Darin) Smith, Elizabeth (Dave) Haskins, Melissa (Joe) Watkins, Heather (Jose) Juarez, Charisse (Charles) LaRoche, Shaina (Nick) Holmgren, Stephanie (Danny) King. He had an abundance of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always showed them guidance, humor, and unconditional love and support. Michael was known for his willingness to always help others.
He loved fishing, hunting and tinkering in his shop. He loved traveling and trying new things. Those who knew him will always remember his laugh, big bear hugs and his stories.
Michael will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
