Myrtis M. Whisenant

Myrtis M. Whisenant, 83, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023. She was born on New Year's Eve, December 31, 1939 to the late Lissie Gore and Lee Leonard Gore.

She was an active member at Caneyhead Assembly of God for many years, and worked as a beautician for 35 years. She had many hobbies that included, planting flowers, working in her yard, cooking delicious food for her family, painting, crafts, and perch fishing.

Myrtis is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, R.V “Jack” Whisenant; daughter Christie Phillips; son Steve Whisenant; brother Jimmy Earl Gore.

She is survived by her children, Thomas and wife Diane Graham, Patricia Schwander, Timothy and wife Donna Whisenant; grandchildren, Christina Norsworthy and husband Chris, Sarah Haynes and husband Bubba, Allen Graham and wife Melissa, Jennifer Stinson, Jessica Stinson, Joe Stinson and wife Gretchen, Tiffany Stinson, Robbie Phillips, Shandilynne Holley and husband Aron, Joshua Denby, Michelle Wright, Michael Brown and wife Cheylyn; siblings, Betty Dohmann and husband Charles, Linda Townsend and husband Sonny Mac, Norman Gore, Dale Gore, Ernestine Clinton; she is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews,and a host of family and friends. She loved and prayed for them daily.

Serving as Pall Bearers, Dillon Jackson, Butch Gore, Allen Graham, Corey Townsend, Bubba Haynes, Joe Stinson.

Serving as Honorary Pall Bearers are, Christopher Norsworthy, David Norsworthy, Blake Townsend, Dale Gore, Norman Gore, Sonny Mac Townsend, Charles Dohmann.

Myrtis M. Whisenant will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
