Nancy Carol Cowart, 75, of Lumberton passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022. She was born on January 9, 1947 in Nederland, Texas to the late Robert Elijah Mullins and Ellie Mae Richey Mullins.

Nancy loved flowers and always had a beautiful yard that her and her husband enjoyed working in together when she was in good health. She had a special bond with children and was best known as “Ninnie” and “Aunt Nancy”. She was married to her husband, John for 59 loving years and together they had two daughters and two sons. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph Mullins, Lane Mullins, Hughes Mullins, Doyle Mullins; and sister, Martha Mullins Coward.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, John D. Cowart Jr. of Lumberton; daughters, Sondra Cowart Peiffer and husband Neal of Lumberton, Stephanie Cowart Gilley and husband Douglas of Silsbee; sons, John D. Cowart III and wife Christy of Lumberton, Elijah Cowart and wife Cortney of League City; grandchildren, Taylor Peiffer Hanna and husband Chance, Madison Peiffer, Eli Cowart, Ella Cowart, Mason Cowart Emmalynn Cowart, Everleigh Cowart; great grandchild, Callan Hanna; sister, Ellie Ruth Mullins; brothers, Carl Mullins and Max Mullins; and numerous other family members and friends.
