Nancy Jenkins Obituary

Nancy Jenkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on Saturday May 31st , 2025. She was 69 years old.

To know Nancy was to be loved, welcomed into warmth, laughter, and authenticity. She lived with a selfless, forgiving heart and embodied the true spirit of a servant, always placing others before herself. Nancy gave generously and without hesitation. If you needed the shirt off her back, she’d hand it to you with a smile.

Nancy loved Jesus deeply and lived her faith out loud, not just words, but through actions. Her bold spirit was matched only by compassion. She wasn’t afraid to speak the truth in love, often saying what others only thought.

She never met a stranger; everyone was a friend to her. With a zest for life and love for dancing, she was the first on the dance floor and the last to leave. She was the life of the party, and her laughter could light up any room. Her greatest joy came from being “MawMaw” to Clay and Cameron Jenkins, Stetson, Ruston, Piper, Marlee, and Cypress Courvelle, and Kenzie Mason.

Nancy attended First Baptist Loeb in Lumberton. She was always reading her bible, bible studies, and kept close to Jesus. She loved to spend her time dancing, fishing, going on lake trips, and being with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ruby Schrimsher; brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Schrimsher; sister, Karen Curtis; and daughter Keri Kincade.

Nancy leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Mike Jenkins. Mike was only 14 years old when he gave Nancy a ride on his motorcycle. A ride that would unknowingly begin the journey of a lifetime. They had a rare and powerful testament to growing up together, building a life through every season, and choosing each other again and again. A love that stood the test of time, and then some.

She is survived by her children, Jeromy Jenkins and wife Nicole, and Summer Courvelle and husband Brandon; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Hayes and Judy Merendino; and a host of other family members and friends.

Her impact on this world is immeasurable, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
