Nanette Shafer Obituary

Nanette Elaine Shafer, 64, of Silsbee, was received in Heaven on April 4,
2022. Nanette had many wonderful qualities as well as pure talents. She was
the author of many beautiful and heartfelt poems.  She could write for hours
producing art in written form.  She had a love of music and a very natural and
talented singing voice that would touch your heart.  She was a Plant
Whisperer. She had the ability to grow just about anything that could produce
a root and she could bring a dried-up twig back to life seemingly by just talking
to it.  She loved being outside in Nature, and especially loved bird watching
and fishing.  She had a special relationship with a little chickadee. For the
past several years she fed it every day outside of her window from a small
teacup, which brought her a lot of joy.  She was a woman that could bait her
own hook, too.  She was a true September baby.  She would become giddy at
the turn of Fall and would become excited when what she called a Blue
Northern would come in with a swift, fierce and cold wind.  It would bring a
twinkle in her eye & put a spring in her step. She was also a good cook.  If
you haven't had the pleasure of eating her famous potato salad, you missed
out.  It could honestly be a meal by itself.  She had a ready smile, an infectious
laugh and a tender heart for everyone she knew or met. Her favorite thing this
side of heaven was her family. not just her husband, kids, grands and great-
grand, but everyone. Nanette knew how to love unwaveringly and without
restrictions.
Most importantly, she loved and knew the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Heaven must be truly rejoicing to have her home.
Nanette was born on September 9, 1957, to the late Milton Alfred Cheshire
and Naomi Capps Cheshire Nichols.  Preceding her in death were her
