Nola Whitmire, 94, of Silsbee passed away February 23, 2024. She was born October 26, 1929 in Caney Head, Texas to the late Zacryer Cheatom Gordon and Bessie Haynes Gordon.
Nola was a lifetime resident of Silsbee and attended Caney Head Assembly of God for many years. Nola married the love of her life Tommy Whitmire November 9, 1953, in Kountze. She enjoyed many hobbies including, fishing and camping, but her absolute favorite to spend her time was to spend time with her family. She took great pride in putting her family first and ensuring they were each taken care of and well loved. Nola was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by both parents; loving husband; sons, Author Roy Whitmire, Edward Lee Whitmire; daughter, Darlene Whitmire; sisters, Lily Loftin, Mildred Treadway; brother, Lawrence Gordon.
Nola is survived by her daughter, Annette Powell and husband Randy of Silsbee; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
