Nona Loretta Burnett-Vaughn

Nona Loretta Burnett-Vaughn, 92, of Silsbee passed away on Thursday, July 28th, 2022. She was born April 16, 1930, to Ethel Nolvanao Petterson-Burnett and Searl Lynn Burnett in Fairbanks, Alaska. Nona relocated to Beaumont, Texas with her husband around 1951 and later settled in Silsbee where she raised her four children. Nona was very proud of her Alaskan heritage; however, she was a true Texan. 

Nona easily made friends that she loved to play games with. Skip Bo, Dominos, and Bingo were among her favorites. At Christmas gift exchanges if there were going to be scratch offs involved, it was going to be a battle. She will be dearly missed by friends and family. 

Survivors include daughter, Lynn Marshall and husband Garry, daughter, Nita Simmons, son, Terry Vaughn and wife Nanette, sister, Charlotte Lefferson, sister-in-law Constance Burnett; grandchildren, Trish, Stephany, William, Jason, Tony, Ronda, Craig, and Corey; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Burnett; daughter, Kathy Seamen and her husband Larry; granddaughter, Marisha McClelland; and great grandson Issac Seaman. 

A gathering of Nona’s family and friends will be held from 10-11am with a Memorial service to follow on August 13th, 2022, at New Covenant Assembly of God, 1470 Nth 5th street, Silsbee Texas. She will be laid to rest in Fairbanks, Alaska.
