Odis Gore, 86, of Silsbee, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026. Odis was born in Silsbee on August 13, 1939, to Addie and French Gore.
Odis graduated from Silsbee High School, class of 1958. He started out as a welder and later became co-owner and operator of Dyers Furniture for over 20 years in Silsbee. Odis was a true cowboy at heart and enjoyed taking care of his property and livestock. He was dedicated to his family, was a hard worker, and was a loving husband. Odis attended cutting events with Charlie Woodard and Wayne Spurlock and always had endless stories to tell from the journeys they went on. He cherished each moment with those around him, especially his grandchildren. He was loved by many in Silsbee and the surrounding communities.
Odis was preceded in death by his parents, Addie Mae and French Gore; one brother, Truman Gore; one brother-in-law, Gerald Fabriguze
Survivors include his wife, Marie Gore; his daughters, Jennifer Broussard and Heather Swearingen (Jim); his grandchildren, Audrey Broussard (Dalton), Ryan Broussard (Kaelyn), Hope Swearingen (Taylor), and Kyle Swearingen (Blake); his two sisters, Nelene Fabriguze and Margie Tousha, and his brother-in-law, Jack; his sister-in-law, Nan Gore. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Amedisys Hospice group, especially to Katie Fowler and Chrisy Breaux, along with Odis’s caregiver, Pam Spears.
