Oneta Faye Harris

Oneta Faye Harris (Hutto), 81, of Fred, Texas passed away on December 20, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1944, to Annie Bell and Amos Mack Hutto.

Oneta was a lifelong resident of Fred, Texas and took much pride in her community. She graduated from Warren Highschool in 1963. Oneta worked for AT&T as a telephone operator and manager from 1964-1992, taking an early retirement at 47. After retiring, Oneta spent much of her time traveling the world with friends, golfing, serving as a trustee for Warren ISD for 17 years and spending time with family and grandchildren. She became a very proud Aggie Mom when her son attended Texas A&M.

Oneta met her husband, Thomas Lee Harris while they were in junior high. They married on December 3, 1965, and spent the next sixty years together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Jean Watts, Ruby Stewart, Mae Gibbs and Pat Hutto.

Oneta is survived by her husband, Thomas Lee Harris; her son Casey Harris and his wife Ashley; her four grandchildren, Weston, Ben, Jackson, and Tommy Harris; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice and her nurses Melissa and Becky.

Oneta will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
