Oscar Joseph Godeaux

Oscar Joseph Godeaux, 75, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in Lufkin, TX. He was born November 12, 1945 to his parents Wilbert and Estelle Godeaux in Opelousas, LA.

Oscar was raised on his family farm where he acquired a strong work ethic. We honor Oscar’s sacrifice to our great Nation as he served in the United States Navy. After his faithful service, he would return to Louisiana to raise his seven loving children. He enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles. He was proud to be a member of the Sheriff’s Posse. In his later years, Oscar enjoyed spending time with his companion, Sue and her family in Texas.

Oscar is survived by his son, Paul Godeaux and wife, Michelle; his daughter, Charlotte Langlois and husband, Richard; his daughter Lisa Knot and husband, Lester; his daughter, Jenny Godeaux; his daughter, Hope Higgins; his son Keith Godeaux; his son Troy Godeaux; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters, Diane Godeaux and Dot Carnahan; his companion, Sue Harrison and family; his numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family members and friends.

Oscar is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Estelle; and his niece, Christina Burgin.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, January 5^th 2021, at the First Pentecostal Church of Fred. A viewing will be held from 11am - 1pm. A Committal service will follow at Fred Community Cemetery.
