Otis Von Smart, Jr

Otis Von Smart Jr., 46, of Silsbee passed away Friday July 25, 2025. He was born on Monday August 28, 1978, in Beaumont to Otis Von Smart Sr., and Shirley Thompkins Smart.

Otis loved riding out on his buggy with Melissa, spending time with his family, and especially spending time with his grandbabies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of eight years, Melissa Smart; brother, Triston Hunter Smart; cousin Terry Wade Smart; grandparents, James Tompkins, Jerry Von Smart and Bonnie Mae Smart.

Otis is survived by his parents, Otis Von Smart Sr. and Shirley Tompkins Smart; daughter Maycy Smart and fiancé Clayton White; son Taylor Smart and wife Sydni; grandchildren, CJ, Callen, and Corbin White, and Olivia and Ellie Smart; sister Kristie Shillings and husband Dustin; brother Coy “Bobo” Smart and wife Lainey; and a host of other family members and friends.
