Phyllis Jean Champlin

Phyllis Jean Champlin, 83, of Silsbee passed away Friday November 3, 2023. She was born December 28, 1939 in Taft, Texas to the late Marvin Elmor Custer and Hazel Othelle Jackson.

Phyllis moved to Silsbee in 2005 with her husband, and together they owned and operated their own construction business. She was a long-time member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Silsbee. Phyllis was baptized July 22, 1953, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Yankee stadium, and that is one of her most treasured accomplishments. When she wasn’t spending time at the Kingdom Hall, she could be found painting or out tending to her garden or her yard that won her yard of the year. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Porter Champlin; both parents; and daughter, Cherri.  

Phyllis is survived by her children, Cindy Moore and husband Kevin, Kurtis Wilson and wife Raeleen, Jarrod Wilson and wife Donna, Michael Wilson, Lindsay Putman and husband Michael; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
