Roger Harvill Obituary

Roger Harvill of Fred Texas passed away at his residence July 14, 2021. He was born on August 13, 1949 in Fred Texas in the same home in which he passed. Roger graduated from Conroe High School in 1967 and from Texas Baptist University in 1972.

Roger worked in Law Enforcement as a Probation Officer in Tyler County and Montgomery County for many years. He later went on to work in the healthcare field as a Long Term Care Administrator until his passing.

Roger was completely devoted to his family and friends. He was loyal and had a “good ole fashion” work ethic. He touched the lives of many people and set an example of honesty, courage and high ideas. He truly wanted everyone to succeed. He was our protector, provider and problem- solver all in one.

Roger enjoyed time with his family and most of all loved his role as “Poppy” to his grandchildren. He had many hobbies and talents.  He was an accomplished airline pilot, and enjoyed flying. You could find him on the golf course, on the lake fishing, on his motorcycle traveling the countryside or simply reading his Bible. He had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir for several years. He was gifted and could play musical instruments. Roger's favorites were his guitar and piano.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents Dan and Lila Harvill, sister Brenda Pollock and grandson Blake Allen.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Harvill, daughters Janna and spouse Stella Dimitrijevic of the Woodlands TX, Sheri Chesser of Fred TX, son Gerry and wife Amy Walton of Fred TX.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Justin and wife Ramelie Allen, Brynna Walton, Lila Dimitrijevic, Lincoln Dimitrijevic, Ashley and husband Blake Neeb and great grandchildren Clara Allen, Addyson Neeb and Kynlee Neeb.

Thank you for giving our family a foundation of strength and a sense of enduring love. We will miss you terribly.

A gathering of Rogers family and friends will be at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Fred TX following the graveside service.
