Ruth (Lester) Lewis

Anna “Ruth” Lewis, 94, of Silsbee passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her home. She was born on January 29, 1928 in London, Kentucky to the late Earl Lester and Mary Catherine Maxey Lester.

She married her husband A.C. Lewis in December 1946 and they were married for 47 years until the time of his passing. Ruth and her husband spent many years serving the Lord as charter members of North Hardin Baptist Church. Ruth also became a member of Good Shepard Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, and volunteered in several ministries there. Above all else, Ruth loved the Lord and accepted Jesus as her savior. She wanted everyone to meet her in heaven one day.

Ruth is preceded by her parents, Earl and Mary Catherine Maxey Lester; husband, A.C. Lewis; daughter, Carolyn McGallion; granddaughter, Sandra Tousha Rogers; great granddaughter, Aleigha Gutierrez; and brothers, Robert, Earl “Bear”, and Harold Lester.

Ruth is survived by her son, Larry Lewis and wife Estelle of Rhome, TX; daughter, Kathy Thorne and husband Mike of Silsbee, TX; grandchildren, Kim Murphy and husband Lee, Shelli Gutierrez and husband Roberto, Kevin Lewis and wife Ashely, Chrishanna Smith, Mary Hunter and husband Niq, Kaylen Pike; great grandchildren, Brittany McClusky and husband Andrew, Corey Crysel, Patrick Morris, Logan Morris, Robbie Gutierrez, Bella Gutierrez, Hawk Hunter, Miles Hunter, Kason Pike, Knox Gilmore, Kit Lewis, Poppy Ruth Lewis, Primrose Lewis; great-great grandson, Wyatt McCluskey; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
