Samantha D. (Brown) Matthews

Samantha D. Matthews, 81, of Onalaska, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. She was born on Wednesday, March 3, 1943, in Kountze, to Leroy Calvin and Evie (McCaghren) Brown.

Mrs. Matthews was a Title Examiner and retired from Polk County Title Company after 20 years of service. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, especially cruises and trips to Canada. She will be remembered as a very giving person with a great sense of humor. Samantha will forever remain a loving wife, mother, maw maw and auntie.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Bill Matthews; daughter, Taylor Flagg, and her husband, James, of Saratoga; son, Kevin Flowers, and his wife, GiGi, of Saratoga; grandchildren, Amy Britt, and her husband, Dustin, of Nederland, Victoria Flowers, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Holly Flowers, of College Station; great grandsons, Phelan and Channing Britt; stepchildren, Gary Matthews, and his wife Jeanette, of Conroe, Kenneth W. Matthews, of Houston and Carol Henley, of Tomball; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honored to serve as pallbearers for Mrs. Matthews will be, Harry, Don, Randy, Calvin, and Aaron Brown. Jason, Josh and Joel Alpers and Brad and Chad Wilber.

Mrs. Matthews is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winston Silvia; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Farmer Funeral Home 415 N. 4th Street Silsbee, TX 77656, with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Jordan Cemetery in Honey Island.
