Samuel Chester Gore Sr., 95, of Silsbee passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 peacefully in his home. He was born August 11, 1928 to the late Stanley W. Gore and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Gore.
Samuel owned his own well digging service for many years. When he wasn’t digging wells, he was either farming, hunting, fishing, or giving his family a hard time. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by both parents; two wives, Willie Bell and Minerva Gore; daughter, Rachel Gore; sons, Rodger Gore, Paul Gore, Averil Gore, and Samuel Gore Jr.
He is survived by his children, Walter Blair of Buffalo, Rena James and husband Lloyd of Kountze, Oliver Gore and wife Jeannie of Spurger, Heubert Gore and wife Kathy of Fred, Dona Bell of Silsbee, Debra Jeffcoat and husband Carlton of Spurger, Delinda and Chancy Northern of Silsbee, Thomas Cravey and wife Kerry of Silsbee, Patricia Walker and husband Clint of Spurger; thirty six grandchildren; seventy three great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
