Samuel Sheffield

Samuel Sheffield, 44, of Kountze, passed away on March 9, 2026.

Samuel was born on February 11, 1982, in Woodville to Wilburn and Opaline Sheffield. He enjoyed four-wheelers, hunting, and playing pool in his spare time. Often, Samuel could be found fishing, but didn’t enjoy the chase as much as hunting deer. His family remembers him as a resilient and loving man who enjoyed time with his family and being outdoors.

Samuel was preceded in death by his mother, Opaline Sheffield; his grandparents, Betty and Wilburn Sheffield Sr., and Addie and Lee Eddings; two uncles, Gary Estepp and Bobby Eddings; and his great-aunt, Patricia Rutherford.

Survivors include his wife, Nikki Pamplin of the home; his son Wayde Smith, his father, Wilburn Sheffield Jr. and his wife Deborah; his sister, Brianna Snipes and husband Justin; two brothers, Dewayne Hutto and wife, Lisa and Josh Sheffield and his wife Sherry; his uncle, Morris Rutherford; his nieces and nephews, Dolton Hutto, Gage Hutto, Edward Sheffield, Julieann Sheffield, Trent Snipes, Austin Snipes and Icelynn Snipes, Macey Cunningham, Daigan Cunningham, Dailynn Robin, Bailey Hall, Chloe Hall, Payton Hall, and Shelby Hall; his great nephew, Kutter Hutto. Survivors also include a host of extended family and close friends.
