Sandra Bouse Newton, 79, of New Caney, died, Thursday April 25th, 2024, at Hermann Memorial Hospital Northeast, in Humble. She was born in Houston on July 31, 1944, to Walter and Stella (York) Mercer.
Sandra was a deputy sheriff for many years, and also, worked for TDCJ. She will be remembered for her love of plants and flowers, traveling, dancing, and shopping. Her grandkids will remember her for playing poker with them, and not only taking their money from winning, but keeping it too. Sandra will forever remain a loving mother, sister and GiGi.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Knupple, and her husband, Keith, of Beaumont; Robin Martinelli, and her husband, Micky, of New Caney, and Dawn Hewitt, and her husband, George, of Conroe; grandchildren, Sean Dunn, Christopher Newton, and his wife, Katie, Whitney Hennigan, and her husband, Ronnie Joe, and Kasey Nester; great -grandchildren, Heidi, Wyatt, Brailyn, Jax, Cheyenne, McKenzie, Kylee, and Kadeyn; great- great grandchildren, Jean Carlos and Atalaya; and her sister, Jeannie Fontenot, of Ville Platte, Louisiana. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Arthur Newton; and her sister, Barbara Hall.
A gathering of Sandra’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel 415 N. 4th St. in Silsbee. Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
