Shirley Catherine (Karonika) Allen

Shirley Catherine Allen, 80, of Evadale, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was born on Saturday, July 28, 1945, in Port Arthur, to Tony Victor and Gloria Catherine (Nevard) Karonika. 

Shirley retired from the Evadale Paper Mill after over 15 years of service. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, gardening, and her generous spirit of giving, which included a food pantry at her house, for those in need. 

Survivors include her sisters, Gloria Wagner, Jean Laurents, and Pat Blount and her husband, Mike; brother, Jerry Karonika; sister-in-law, Barbara Kristiansen and her husband, Fred; her lifelong friend, Sharon Hudson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and lifelong friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 35 years, George Allen; and her brother, Charles Karonika. 

Mrs. Allen’s cremation arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
