Sierra Measel Obituary

 

 

Sierra Dawn Measel, 29, of Vidor, died Monday, August 26, 2024, at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, in Houston.

She was born on November 29, 1994 in Beaumont to Michael Measel and Heather Lynn (Parks) Smith. Sierra will be remembered for her love of cooking, true crime documentaries, and the arts and crafts she created with her son, Owen. She also had an excellent singing voice. Sierra will forever remain a loving daughter, mother, sister, and friend to all.

Sierra is survived by her son, Owen Wayne Marks, of Vidor; mother and step father, Heather and Steven Smith, of Vidor; father and step mother, Mike and Sandra Measel, of Lumberton; sisters, Erica Smith, and her husband, Justin, of Hampstead, North Carolina, Stevie Smith, of Vidor, Angelica Lopez, Cammie Jones, and Tatum Stratton, all of Port Lavaca; brothers, Devin Smith, and his wife, Jessica, of Covington, Tennessee, Haydn Smith, of Vidor, Thomas Measel, and Jaden, of Lumberton, and Carter Measel, of Lumberton; grandparents, Edgar and Reba Smith, of Vidor and Danielle Danna, of Groves. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Sierra is preceded in death by her grandparents, Hendrix and Mary Parks, Ronald Measel, and Glenda Johnson.

A gathering of Sierra’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2024 with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel 415 N. 4th Street Silsbee, Texas 77656. Her cremation arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
