Virgle Clarence Spurlock

Virgle Clarence Spurlock, 91, of Fred passed away Monday, November 14, 2022. He was born on July 6, 1931 in Kountze, Texas to the late Chester B. Spurlock and Laura Drake Spurlock. 

Virgle was a veteran of the United States Army and served overseas during the Korean Conflict era. He was a lifelong resident of Fred where he and his late wife raised their family. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union #84 out of Houston. Virgle loved to play bluegrass music, hunt, and spend time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, Pawpaw, and friend who will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Helen Bonnie Spurlock; daughter, Bonnie Darlene Beckman; brothers, Jack Spurlock, LC Spurlock, Leon Spurlock, Cecil Spurlock; and sister, Ottis Mae Odom.

Virgle is survived by his children, Connie Jean Druckhammer and husband Steve of Houston, Billy Jack Spurlock of Fred, Gina Lynn Goines and husband Kenneth of Cleveland; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
