Walter D. Gore Sr

Walter D. Gore Sr, 85, born August 8, 1934 passed away April 15, 2020 in Silsbee, TX.  He attended Silsbee schools and proudly served his country in the US Army.  Walter was a Woodyard Operator at Temple Inland, a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, loved to hunt, fish, travel and go camping with his family.  He enjoyed raising livestock for show, supporting all of his kids and grandkids in their sport activities and loved working in his garden. 

Walter is preceded in death by his parents Corine Gore Harvill and Walter Brown Gore, his brother Thomas Gore, his sister Francis Baxter and his wife of 54 years Bettie. 

He is survived by his wife of 10 years Joyce; his sons Walter “Sparkie” Douglas Gore Jr and wife Rebecca “Becky” Gore of Silsbee, Randy Dean Gore and his wife Vicki Lynn Durden of Orange and his daughter Jana Renee Wilkerson of Warren.  Walter is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and his brothers Frank Gore of Silsbee and Franklin Gore of Evadale. 

A private family graveside will be held at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
