Mr. Will Roger Ivey, 77, of Evadale, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at his residence.
"Roger" was born January 23, 1943, in Opp, Alabama, to parents Will Ivey and Veffie (Tubbe) Ivey. He formerly lived in Florida and had lived in Evadale for the past 44 years.
He traveled the world extensively with his work as a construction superintendent for BE and K Construction. Roger shared his construction expertise in helping prepare text books and literature for construction training.
Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Evadale's First Baptist Church.
His survivors include his wife, Leora Ivey, to whom he was married July 14, 1976; children, Cherie Pugh and husband Jimmy of Florida, Cindy Kirkland and husband Tod of Texas, Vicki Spurlock and husband Gary of Texas, Duane Ivey and wife Kim of Arkansas, and Donald Foster and wife Tracy of Texas; sister, Diann Ivey-Kollet of Texas; brothers, Jerry Ivey of Florida, Wade Ivey of Texas and William (Bill) Sexton of Alabama; grandchildren, Seth Lands, Jackson Miller, Tiffany Herline, Caleb Collins, Cody Spurlock, Will Spurlock, Sunnie Sherman, Tyler Ivey, Morgan Kirkland, and Anna Foster; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee, Texas.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Farmer Funeral Home's chapel with Bro. Thomas Foster and Bro. Bill Darnell officiating. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery, located on County Road 777 near Buna, Texas.
Pallbearers: Seth Lands, Jackson Miller, Tyler Ivey, Will Spurlock, Cody Spurlock, and Caleb Collins.
