William Edward Burden, 71, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on June 30, 1954, in Silsbee, Texas, to Floyd Wesley and Allie Lee Burden.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sue Burden; his parents, Floyd Wesley and Allie Lee Burden; his sister, Mary Francis Seales; his niece, Darla Kay Seales; his nephew, James Seales; his grandson-in-law, Jake Dearing; his grandson, Blake Sirmons; and his great-grandson, Kayden Griffis.
He is survived by his daughters, Belinda Strickland and husband Bob Strickland, Veronica Sirmons and husband David Sirmons, Kathy Dunlap and husband Mike Dunlap.
He also leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren: Lauren Dearing, Jarrot Griffis, Cody McCasland and wife Shyanne, Thomas Griffis and wife Jennah, Atticus Dunlap, and Makayla Hays and husband Bryce. His love continues through his great-grandchildren: Carson Moore, Emma Dearing, Connor Dearing, Rhett McCasland, Adaline McCasland, Presley Nelson, Audrey Nelson, Stetson Hays, Oaklynn Hays, and Tuff Sirmons.
Though he did not have to be, he chose to be a father to three girls who were his in every way that mattered. When he married their mother 46 years ago, he chose not only her, but the family that came with her. His girls and grandchildren were the pride of his life, and he loved them with everything he had. He loved his wife, Sue, with every fiber of his being. She was his world, his partner, and his greatest love. He spent his working years in the oilfield, dedicating himself to providing for his family and building a life rooted in hard work and commitment. Outside of work, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and gathering family and friends around a good crawfish boil. The outdoors was his happy place, but his true joy was always his family.
He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the quiet but steady love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the family he chose, loved, and protected.
