Obituary

William (Bill) Edward Hodgkins entered His heavenly home on January 20 th , 2023. We are sure he was welcomed into heaven by Jesus and his wife of 54 years, soulmate, and other half, Mia Hodgkins.

Bill was born on May 28 the 1937 to Richard and Hilda (Wakefied) Hodgkins. He grew up in Greenville with his siblings Richard (Beverly) Hodgkins, Margaret (John) Van Schagen, Fred Hodgkins, and Patricia (Robert) Chambers. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1955. He then entered the Army and was stationed in Seoul, Korea. It is there that he met Mia and their eternal love story begins. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Aquinas College in 1973. Together they raised their children, Connie (Curt) Myers and Bill (Deb) Hodgkins. Bill started his career at Gordon Food Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan and finished his career with Sysco as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. While at Sysco he worked at the Grand Rapids, Beaumont, and San Antonio branches. After retiring, Bill split his time on the golf course at Wildwood and with wife Mia. They enjoyed frequent trips to casinos and spending summers in Huron County where they were close to children and grandchildren. Bill’s legacy will live on in the honorable and kind man that he was. He was an avid reader and never lost the desire to learn. He will be remembered for a great sense of humor and as part of the Wildwood Men’s Golf Association, as well as one of the Three Stooges golfing buddies including Joe Pal and Cecil McConnell.

Left to mourn his loss and honor his memory are his children, Connie and Bill, grandchildren, Nicole (Patrick) Day, Kimi (Damian) Strong, Will Hodgkins, Alexis (Kyle) Bechtel, and Erica (fiancé Michael) Myers, sister Patricia, and sister-in-law Beverley, great grandchildren Ben and Haddie Bechtel, and River Strong. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Also, his many friends especially his golf buddies and early morning coffee drinkers, many neighbors, and his precious dog, Little Lady.

Welcoming him into Heaven include his beloved wife Mia, siblings Richard, Margaret, and Fred, brothers-in-law John and Robert, and Granddaughter Jessica Hodgkins.

Rest easy in your new home. Your life on earth was lived well, enjoy golfing with buddies who have gone.

before and may you finally hit as many jackpots as Mia.
