William Richard Floyd Nelson III, 59, of Silsbee, Texas passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 in
Beaumont, Texas. He was born March 8, 1964 in Kountze, Texas to Earlene Jackson Jasper and the late
William Richard Floyd Nelson II.
William, known by many as Junior, retired from Hardin County Precinct #1 as a heavy equipment
operator after 23 years of dedicated service. He later returned to work part time for Hardin County
Precinct #1, where he worked until he was no longer able to. When he was not working, he enjoyed
watching his favorite sports with family and friends. He was a huge Texas Longhorn fan.
He also enjoyed singing for the Lord as a member of Saved By Grace gospel quartet and recently By His
Grace gospel group. He was a faithful member at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Silsbee for many
years, where he previously served as music director and Sunday School Superintendent.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Richard Floyd Nelson II. He is survived by his wife, Laura
Nelson; children, William (B.J.) Nelson, Samuel (Sammy) Nelson, Daniel (Danny) Nelson, Carrie Nelson,
Jeremy Nelson, Zaylee Nelson; mother of his oldest children, first love, and special friend, Pam Nelson;
mother, Earlene Jackson Jasper; brothers, Jimmy (Wayne) Wright and wife Linda, Buddy Wright and
wife Sandy, Carlton Wright and wife Dorothy; sisters, Nelda Herrington and husband Kevin, Shana
Anderson and husband Allen; grandchildren, Haley Nelson, Hayden Nelson, Alexis Nelson, Keldon
Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
