William Travis Hare, 87, was born July 9, 1933 in Silsbee, TX to Emory Lee and Viola Coudrain Hare. He passed away July 22, 2020 in Beaumont, TX.
Travis was a hard-working man of many talents and was always there to help a person in need. He worked as a welder and retired from Shaffer/N L Industries in 1985 after 18 years of service. He loved to hunt and fish, but more than anything, he loved his Lord, his family and his friends. He always had a pocket full of candy for children and adults, too. He was a loyal and trustworthy person that could always be depended on.
Travis proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Navy. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Kountze.
Mr. Hare is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, E L Haire, Edward Hare and Marshall Hare and his son David Hare.
Surviving him is his wife of 56 years, Andra Perkins Hare of Kountze; daughters Betty Mitchell of Abilene and Danelle Haynes and husband Robert of Vidor; son Travis D. Hare and wife Eva of Kountze; brothers Montie Beard and wife Tracy of Kountze, Ray Haire of Buna; sister Fay Barnett of Nederland; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild. He is also survived by many nephews, cousins and all his grand pups!
A graveside service with military honors for Mr. Hare is 3:00 pm Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.
Travis was loved very much and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
