Willie Gene Warren, 81, was born on December 31, 1944, and passed away at his home in Spurger, TX, on March 12, 2026.
Willie was born to Edward Hardy Warren and Nelma Prestwood Greve, and was also raised by his stepmother, Lillie Warren. He worked as a master plumber all his life and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Even outside of work, he spent much of his time doing the things he loved most like being outdoors and working with his hands. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and tinkering on old trucks, always finding something to fix or work on.
Willie shared 47 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Paula, until her passing in 2012. Together they built an amazing life centered around family.
He was a proud father to Corinna Warren Willis and Marty Warren. One of his favorite roles in life was being “Pawpaw.” He loved his grandkids dearly and was known to spoil them whenever he could.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Amanda Moreno and husband George; Shelby Hinson and husband Gage; Mitchell Warren and fiancé Zayra; and Katelynn Warren; along with eight great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Archie Hood and wife Janet, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Warren; his sister, Mary Briggs; his brother, Kenneth Hood; his parents, Eddie and Nelma; and his stepmother, Lillie.
Pawpaw loved to tell stories and could keep you listening for quite a while with memories from years past. He was rarely one to sit still and was always finding something to do. If you stopped by for a visit, chances are you’d leave having heard at least one good story.
