Wilma Bell Stratton

Wilma Bell Stratton, 72, of Houston passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas after a series of illnesses. She was born January 1, 1948 in Port Arthur, Texas to James Frank and Jimmy Beatrice Ard Bell.

Willie, as she was lovingly known by her family, graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School. She had many jobs over the years. She retired from DPS Construction where she worked as an office clerk.

Mrs. Stratton was a 'people person' who enjoyed getting to know folks she has met over the years.  Willie was happiest surrounded by her adored family.

Mrs. Stratton is survived by her mother, Beatrice Bell; her loving husband of 30 years,Fred Stratton; brother David Bell and wife Peggy; sister-in-law Kathy Bell and husband Russell Schnexnaider;  step-daughter Dena Poremski and her husband Doug; step-daughter Debbie Schilling; step-son Darrell Stratton and wife Azucena; nephews and nieces, David Bell Jr., Thomas Bell, Brandie Gravis, Nathan Bell and Jayme Perry; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and six great nieces and nephews. She loved each and every one dearly.
  She is preceded in death by her father, James and brother, Lawrence Bell.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Baker-Bell Cemetery in Fred.
